April
7th at Zen Lounge and will mark the momentous occasion of collaboration
between local Denverites, Brandi
Shigley and Sammy
T, in an effort to raise money and awareness for the Pacific
Transplant Project and orphanage Hospicio de San Jose. The aim
of this incredible and impactful project is to help children who
may never be adopted take control and design a life for themselves
they may have never thought possible. Both Brandi and Sammy were
adopted from the Philippines at a young age and these two highly
successful Filipino powerhouses are positioned to bring much needed
attention to this area of the Philippines.
The
event will also give both Sammy and Brandi and opportunity to
showcase their musical talents. Sammy T will be performing his
top hits “People Get Ready” and “Walk with You”
and many others and Brandi will be performing with her musical
project, b.sous. In addition to that, there will be performances
by DJ Tommy Gray of ST2, OPM affectionately known as Orange Peel
Moses, and Self Inflicted fresh from the Monolith stage at Red
Rocks 2009. There will be a showcase of amazing artwork of Phil
Kephardt, and the local styles and cutting edge threads of Fashion
Denver. Libations and snacks will be provided so please bring
your dancing shoes and an open heart.
Proceeds
for the event will go directly to the orphanage Hospicio de San
Jose, and to the Pacific Transplant Project. Currently, Sammy
and Brandi are both working hard to fulfill their joint dream
of traveling to the Philippines in order to directly lend aid
and help to the orphanage, a portion of proceeds will help them
to achieve this mission. For more information about Hospicio de
San Jose or to help get involved with their fund-raising goals,
